Research:
It will take 3 days for my design to be 3d printed and delivered from makexyz, and cost approximately $12 if I were to have it printed out of plastic. I chose makexyz because of its free, fast shipping and its relatively cheap prices.

Conclusion:
1). When I see something that comes from a machine, I automatically assume it's perfect. Man-made things, on the other hand, are prone to mistakes/human error.
2). Working drawings are definitely necessary in order to communicate the design of a consumer product. Without a sketch, it's a lot more difficult to picture the design, as the way we picture the design in our minds may be completely different from someone else's. Without a picture, if it's not perfectly communicated and explained, then the design is ruined.
3). 3D animated models can more accurately convey the finer details of a design that a still picture wouldn't be able to do. Beyond the design process, they can be used as a visual aid for pitching/engineering/etc.
